Choose Eternal Life

Did you know you are the only being on earth who can determine your life’s direction and eternal destiny? You are a noble creature made in the image and likeness of God. God loves you unconditionally regardless of your circumstances. He is waiting for you with His arms wide open, ready to lift off all the burdens that weigh you down and make you an heir to His kingdom. However, the decision you make of your free will is paramount as it makes the difference between life and death.

Every day is an opportunity for you to repent and turn to God. The Bible uses the metaphor of vapor that appears briefly and then vanishes away to describe the shortness of life on Earth. Indeed, our time in this world is limited. On the other hand, there is eternal life that transcends this temporal existence on earth. God desires every person to be saved and have eternal life. You can take advantage of God’s mercy and decide on your eternal destiny only while you are physically alive.

Physical death is an inevitable phenomenon; of course, everyone will die someday. But did you know that there is a second death? Originally, humanity was created for fellowship with God but separated from Him due to the sin of Adam and Eve. Consequently, all humanity became sinners and died in spirit. The Word of God says, “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 (KJV). Later in Romans 6:23 it states “For the wages of sin is death ” (KJV).

My friend, you are a sinner because you are a descendant of Adam. Sin separates you from God and ultimately leads to punishment in hell. Hell is a lake of fire which is the second death. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”Revelation 20:15 (KJV). The time will come when God gathers all people to Himself and repays each according to their deeds. Mathew 13:49-50 tells us ” So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” (KJV).

This is not the word of man, but the Word of the living God who made the heavens and the earth. Pay attention to it and believe it. Remember that even if you do not believe it, it will inevitably happen. Hell is a place of eternal torment. Whether you are thrown into this horrible place or saved from it is contingent on the choice you make of your free will while you are on earth today.

So why would you go there when you could escape this eternal torment? If you want to be saved from this eternal fire and torment, confess your sins to Jesus Christ and ask Him to forgive you. He will forgive your sins and bring you into the kingdom of heaven. The Bible says ” If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (KJV). But if you do not repent and continue in your sins, rest assured that you will be thrown into hell forever.

This statement may sound ridiculous if you trust in possessions, your self-righteousness, or something else. However, no matter what wealth, power, fame, honor, friends, education, knowledge, experience, good looks, strength, self-confidence, or anything else you possess, you will one day die and stand before the judgment throne of God.

“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” Mathew 25:31-34 (KJV).

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” Mathew 25፡41 (KJV).

Every day, more than 150,000 people die around the world. Like these individuals, one day you too will die and leave this world, as it is the law of nature. If you do not confess your sins to Jesus Christ and accept Him as your personal Savior, you will then die the second death and go to hell.

Jesus Christ came from heaven to save you from all the consequences of sin; suffered for you, crucified, died, was buried; and he paid the penalty of sin by death. He became a sinner in your place. He shed His blood on Mount Calvary on the cross, and gave his life for you, so that your sins might be blotted out. And on the third day, he overcame death and rose from the dead so that in his resurrection you might have everlasting life.

He will come again and take away those who believe in Him. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:3 (KJV). But if you do not believe in him, he will come to judge you. He will say to you “depart from me into eternal fire, prepared for Satan and his angels.”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV).  If you reject Jesus, neglecting the salvation freely given to you through His sacrifice on the cross, will He not judge you? Certainly, He will.

Jesus Christ shed his blood to cleanse your sins. The Bible says: ” The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1፡7 (KJV).  And only Jesus Christ can deliver you from hell and give you eternal life. Here is what Jesus said: ” Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 (KJV). The Bible clearly states:  ” Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12. (KJV).

You never know what tomorrow will bring. “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Cor. 6:2 (KJV). Confess your sins now to Jesus Christ, believe in Him, and invite Him into your life, for tomorrow is not guaranteed.

If you want to be saved from hell and inherit eternal life:

  1. Admit that you are a sinner and cannot be cleansed from your sins by your power.
  2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead so that you can inherit eternal life.
  3. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior.

Do you want to accept Jesus Christ now as your Lord and personal Savior, acknowledging that he died on the cross to pay for your sins and rose again to give you eternal life?

If your answer is yes, we encourage you to pray this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, were buried, and rose from the dead on the third day, and will come back again. Lord Jesus, forgive my sins, wash me with your precious blood, and cleanse me. Lord Jesus, come into my heart.  I receive you as my Lord and Savior by faith.  I thank you for forgiving me. Amen!”

If you sincerely prayed this prayer, you are now saved from eternal damnation and hell and have become a child of God. You have undoubtedly become an heir to the kingdom of heaven. The Bible says: ” But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1፡12 (KJV). This is the greatest decision in your life you will never regret!

Having prayed this prayer and entered into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, your next actions are:

  1. Read the Bible every day. Start by first reading the Gospels in the New Testament.
  2. Communicate with God continually in prayer.
  3. Go to a bible-believing evangelical church, and worship God.
  4. Witness to others that you are following the Lord Jesus Christ. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9 (KJV).

The Holy Spirit sanctifies, teaches, and strengthens you. He also guides you into all truth. Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and invite Him. By doing so, you will be filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 says, ” If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?“ (KJV)

My friend, God has given you free will to choose between good and evil, a blessing and a curse, the path that leads to eternal life and the path that leads to hell. If you confessed your sins and accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have chosen eternal life.

However, if you ignore this call and persist in your sin, you are choosing eternal death and heading toward hell. ” He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3፡18 (KJV).

What is your decision? To be a child of God and live everlasting life in the Kingdom of God or to be thrown into the lake of fire prepared for the devil and his angels for eternity?
